Hoshindo is Japanese immuno-apitherapy, a holistic healing practice based on the meridian system and Five Elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Apitherapy generally works with the medicines of the hive including bee venom, propolis, royal jelly, beeswax, and bee pollen to bring healing to an individual. 

Hoshindo utilizes micro-doses of honey bee venom retained in the vibrating stinger of the honey bee to promote anti-inflammatory effects in the body. This is an ancient practice that led to the development of acupuncture; the needle mimicking the honey bee stinger and moxibustion the heat caused by the warming of the body to the venom.

We hand select the oldest bees who join us in this work during their final days, ensuring that nursing bees and other worker bees crucial to hive operations remain with the colony.

Japanese Apitherapy

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing practice developed by Mikao Usui. It is based on the idea that there is a universal life force energy that we can tune into and receive when we fall out of step due to the goings-on of life, traumas, and daily stressors. A practitioner concentrates their palms either hovering just above the client or lightly on their body.

Clients may feel physical sensations such as heat and vibration in their body, and many also feel safe, calm, and at peace. Reiki has been shown to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, causing a reduction in pain, relieving anxiety and stress, and improving sleep quality. Reiki was also shown to improve pre- and post-operative surgical outcomes.

Reiki can be received by the client for healing in the moment or transcending space and time to heal in the past and future.
